Surrounded by history

After coming in the door take a quick look around the kitchen area. You’ll find an old mechanical apple peeler, a vulcan stove, and a small cabinet made out of an old wooden crate with a Barnboard door as the housing for the entertainment center. There are dried herbs and flowers mixed among the implements and oddities hung from the wood beams in the ceiling. If you look closely in the picture with the island counter you will notice that the hanger for pots pans and implements is made from a Whippletree with the iron cleaned and oiled and the surface of the wood varnished. Several of the pot hooks were forged on the property by me.
The house was built in 1863, has an attached barn, and provides an atmosphere and spirit you just can’t find in a home without 150 years of history.
